Important

Your organisation must have a category 3 live entertainment licence in order to manage the box office.

If the hosting theatre does not have a centralised box office, the production structure must have its own box office in which the following legal wording must be printed: name and address of the theatre where the performance is taking place, name of the producer, title of the show, time(s), price(s), licence number(s), name and taxation number of the printer, name of the manufacturer, serial number of the ticket, ticket number (produce three stubs: one for the spectator, one for the theatre/company, and one to be kept for audit purposes).

AF&C also allows Festival OFF d'Avignon companies and theatres to sell tickets for their shows on the ticket'OFF box office.

The ticket'OFF box office

The Avignon Festival & Compagnies association created the ticket’OFF box office in 2014.
OFF theatres and companies can sell tickets for their show on the website and the OFF iPhone and android apps.
Tickets are sold exclusively at full price, reduced prices for subscribers and child rates from May onwards.
The full ticket price is paid back to the producer of the show.
There is an additional management fee of €0.95 for every ticket sold. It is passed on in full to the support fund for professionalisation.
The ticket’OFF module is presented in detail on the OFF programme registration interface. Shows selling tickets through the ticket’OFF box office have a pictogram in the programme.

Keep up with the latest ticket'OFF news on Facebook and twitter @ticket'OFF17!

VAT rate

The reduced rate of VAT (5.5 %) notably applies to theatre, cabaret and poetic performances, circuses, concerts, variety performances (except those held in establishments where it is customary to eat or drink during the show), choreographic and lyrical performances.
Box office revenues from the first 140 performances of certain shows are subject to the reduced rate of 2.1 % under certain conditions.
Where necessary entertainment tax, at the rate of 3.5 % on the pre-tax value or on the selling price of the show, is collected by the Centre national de la chanson, des variétés et du jazz/National Centre for Song, Variety and Jazz (CNV) when it becomes due as a variety show, by the Association pour le soutien du théâtre privé/Association for the Support of Private Theatre (ASTP) when it is due as a theatrical, lyrical or choreographic show.
