Nee dans une famille de danse traditionelle japonnaise, Egiku a ete formee par sa mere, Eikuchi Hanayagi, depuis I'age de deux ans. Elle s'est ecartee de la tradition afin de creer son propre style de danse base, uniqeument, sur la technique et les bases de la danse japonnaise.
