Show resume

The bet of the staging of Joël Lagarde is to dramatize the tales of Guy de Maupassant: "Pierrot", "La parure", "La dot", "La tombe", in an interpretation of the full text.
The two actors are alternately narrators and protagonists. They go through all the stages of life.
Maupassant's fantasy teaches us that, from now on, the modern man carries in himself his own demons. Madness can be born of the slightest apprehension, the most fleeting impression, especially in solitude.
Like La Fontaine, Maupassant belongs to all times. In these four tales, this lucid writer up to cruelty seizes the spectator here always respected who goes from laughter to tears and from smile to melancholy.
Pessimism is there but the form is so emphatic that it conquers us. His French is always French, today's, tomorrow's, and everyone, whatever his age, his culture, adopts his text, which remains that of a master of literature.
Maupassant is emotion in all its forms and we come out of this show with a more indefinable: one would take oneself to believe oneself better.

"Rêves de théâtre" is located in Saint-Gaudens, Haute Garonne. It has existed since 1993, and in a quarter of a century has multiplied experiences in fields as diverse as classical text, contemporary creation, clown, storytelling and tragedy. The meetings with many artists, who are often very different, have forged their assumed eclecticism and diversity, which they claim in a theater of creation, a theater of authors, a popular theater. The troupe is part of this fabric of dramatic art which covers the country and found in festivals as well as more or less media actions, often educational, which frees the creation and initiates the company in the artistic field. It is, like many companies, one of its essential links without which all cultural life loses its future. Once again in Avignon, it presents two of its most successful shows.
